Forget sponge baths, Leo had a real bath today! He was squeaky clean by the end. Also, Leo gained 1 1/2 cm in length and his head grew a 1/2 cm this week. He is now up to 1770 grams (3 lbs 14 oz). That means he has officially doubled his birth weight. That's one BIG boy :)
He should be moving up to a crib in the next couple of days too! The doctor looked at his weight and said, "Looks like Leo is ready for a crib in the near future!" All I can think of is how weird it will be to see him in a crib rather than his isolette and have him exposed to the air. I'll be able to touch him whenever and changing his diaper will be a breeze not having to do it while sticking your hands through little holes! All these little things moms of babies in intensive care units dream to see their babies get to do, and other moms probably take for granted, are finally coming true for Leo.
With all these changes they will be lowering the oxygen he gets because he is doing much better with his lungs. He will also start transitioning into bottle/breast feeding. Needless to say, this will be a very busy week for Leo.
he looks very comfortable in his bath!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so much like Dave in the last picture!!! How fun you got to give him a bath, I am sure you just loved doing that! Can't wait for him to be in a crib that is fabulous news that it will be really soon!!
ReplyDeleteI love his eyes and hair! He is soooo cute. I think he's becoming a water baby - and many other great things!
ReplyDeleteHe is absolutely precious!
